Woodlands Inn of Sapphire, located near the border of the Nantahala National Forest and the Pisgah National Forest in the heart of the Western North Carolina Mountains, invites you to visit the "Land of the Waterfalls." With over 250 waterfalls in the area, this is the ideal location for all nature lovers.  Your hosts, John, Lisa, and Mary Kay will show you the true meaning of old fashioned mountain hospitality with accommodations that are pleasant for a romantic getaway, or just for the simple enjoyment of cool beauty and peaceful serenity. The tranquil landscape provides the prefect setting for at retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The inn features individually decorated rooms with different colors and styles; some have wonderful views, brass, iron, or wicker beds. All guest rooms are air conditioned, have a private bath, and come complete with television, coffee-makers, and refrigerators. The luxury 2-room suites also include a Jacuzzi, King-sized feather bed and a living room that has a gas log fireplace and a sofa that can sleep two.

We serve breakfast daily in our gathering room-home-style with lots of choices-homemade bread, hot cereal, muffins, coffeecake, biscuits, omelets, waffles and always fresh fruit! 

The inn and the area allow for many activities. At the Inn there is a picnic area with grills.
Hiking or horseback riding nearby trails will bring you closer to nature in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Golf nearby or visit one of the many lakes, streams and rivers for fishing nearby, as well as swimming, boating, tubing, kayaking or canoeing. Whitewater Falls, Gem Mine and Panther Valley (falls & hiking) are nearby.
